On the 20th of November, Vaati suddenly found himself in the strange City of Discedo. Though confused and startled, he's mostly angry since he didn't get to finish draining the Light Force out of Zelda. Though he was at first invited to the church, Vaati quickly makes the decision to move out on his own (being the anti-social jerk he is) and makes himself at home in the school. He meets many new people, such as Zack, Harriet, and Luki. Oh, and Midna, of course. Fortunately for him, she doesn't stay long.

Of course, nothing goes well. Harriet goes out looking for flowers, but doesn't return. Vaati helps set up a search party. He totally denies any affection he might have for her. Harriet is soon rescued from the lake bed thanks to Larsa's help.

On the 26th, it rains for the first time in Discedo. Too bad it happens to be acid rain. Zack freaks out and it's up to Vaati and Lenne to help him. He totally wasn't worried, either. Though his shoes are burned through, Vaati survives Discedo's first rainfall, but the elementary school doesn't. He moves to the apartments on Marshall Street. The rain becomes a normal occurence and everyone goes about their daily post-apocalyptic lives. Aeris, Zack's friend, disappears and then returns to Discedo, but has no recollection of her previous visit. Something is afoot. In a completely unrelated incident, Vaati realizes he's allergic to fish.

Link finally shows up, this displeases Vaati. Everyone soon realizes Christmas is coming up, and Vaati wants nothing to do with it. He gives people junk anyway. Harriet gives him something in return.

Simon is kidnapped, but Vaati doesn't care. He's eventually rescued with any of the mage's help.

Zack disappears from Discedo and loses his memory like Aeris did. More people go missing every day. Vaati looks for answers.

The Atropos Virus, the disease that killed many of Discedo's original inhabitants, returns. At first Vaati is anything but concerned, but then Harriet gets it. Fortunately, the cure comes just in time and everything turns out fine. Oh, but then Harriet disappears. Sorry. Vaati moves to the new Gohl Outpost to try and forget about Harriet. The good news is, he ends up befriending Prydain and thus learns about the chips that are blocking his magic. He tries to convince a doctor to remove his, but before the operation can be performed, he is taken from Discedo.

Two months pass. Then, without warning, he's back. Many people he knew are gone, and he only remember being back in his own world for a few seconds, but once again Vaati fins himself in the city of Discedo. He's not pleased. The mage hears that Link is also in the city again, and gets further information from Sheik. Vaati plots.

Then, with little warning, several earthquakes shake the city and chimeras attack. The outpost is attacked and Vaati helps defend it with Prydain. The chips start affecting people, however, and Vaati finds himself a little bit psycho. Things work out either way. The chimeras eventually give up at the streets of Discedo are quiet(er) once more. Prydain was injured during the fight and Vaati ahs no choice but to help him out a little. Vaati also gets a chance to chat with Link. Stuff rains from the sky, people turn into animals--just another normal day.

Then Sheik is revealed to be Zelda by Link, which is later confirmed by the princess herself. Vaati plots moar.
Walter starts the 21 Sacraments in hopes of bringing back his "mom". After a brief discussion, Vaati becomes "Mr. Crows Nest". Then he finds out he's on Walter's list, denial ensues and he goes into hiding. After Walter is stopped and the victims start reviving, however, he decides to come back. The 21 Sacraments seem to be over... for now.

Vaati suggests Prydain become his apprentice, and he later accepts the offer. Too bad neither of them have their power anymore. Nonetheless, plans are made. Vaati wishes Nill a happy birthday and is reminded of Harriet. Some more strange events crop up. First his shoes run away then his hat is stolen by darklings. Vaati is full of hate and rage (especially rage).

Walter finally escapes and the 21 Sacraments continue. Vaati runs off again to hide, ignoring Harry's orders to stay with someone else. However, he has a stalker this time. He tries to get her to go away, but she refuses. Walter finally makes his way up the list to Vaati and the mage is burned alive--however, Walter is stopped by Zelda and Eileen, and the Sacraments are cut short. Vaati is revived two days after his death. Naminé meets with him at Gohl when he returns. He immediate goes to work at making a new cloak since his old one was charred horribly. The mage goes back to spending his days locked in his attic, being an anti-social jerk.

More weird shit goes down, because that's just how Discedo is. Vaati is forced to tell the truth by a strange mist, but he cheats his way out of telling people what he really thinks. Things return to semi-normalcy after the mist disappears. Since hearing Prydain mention a need for warmer clothing, Vaati begins knitting sweaters in secret. The scientists run into some trouble and a group is sent out to help them in the mountains. Vaati is not part of this group, of course, and thus has little to do with any of it (even though he asks for a reward). After the group comes back with an injured Lolita, however, the other scientists put up a "power block" to make sure she's returned safely. Vaati still has his magic blocked anyway, but he makes sure to whine about other people's whining anyway. As the scientists promised, he gets his sword and a new cloak that isn't ugly or burnt into ash.

The "power block" malfunctions later on, causing everyone with chips to lose their personality. Vaati becomes very boring. Hooray. He makes a point to pretend not to celebrate Halloween before getting blown up in a Heaven Smile invasion, followed by the privacy settings on the communicators malfunctioning and accidentally leaving a public post about his innermost thoughts on the network. Smooth.

He hits his one year anniversary and still has his chip in. Fortunately for him, through Prydain he meets Xehanort who removes it for him. All's looking just swell until he goes mad from having all his power back and goes on a rampage for a few days, cursing everyone he comes across. He eventually runs out of steam and gets picked up by Ness and has to stick around as his tiny true form for awhile. Gohl decides to let him stay despite his psychotic breakdown.

Christmas comes around. Vaati is stuck in an elf costume. Also, everyone gets hand-knit stockings. He gets some seeds and a hideous fish from the scientists and is not amused. On New Years Eve he sees a brief vision of his future--being defeated, sealed in a sword for thousands of years and going completely insane--and isn't too happy about that. Later on, a gas leak nearly suffocates all of the city until a strong breeze carries it away (only partially thanks to everyone's favourite wind mage). Then the acid rain starts up again. Vaati reminisces.

And then he vanishes again.

Nearly two months later, Vaati returns to Discedo one more time, but thousands of years later by Hyrule's timeline. Having almost completely forgotten about his life in Discedo due to having gone mad with power and isolation over millenniums, he spends the majority of his time boasting about his power and demanding everyone bow down to him. Though a part of him desperately wants to remember his life before obtaining the Light Force, after two more months in the city he leaves yet again, never to return again.

Or so it seems...
